Alex Greenwood will miss Manchester City’s match with Arsenal this Sunday as she continues to recover from a head injury sustained on international duty.
The 30-year-old was given oxygen and was taken off the field on a stretcher.
“Of course she won’t be available for the weekend,” said Manchester City boss Gareth Taylor on Friday.
“We’ll make sure that her return to a playing timeframe is managed in the right way.
“She’s due to see a specialist next week so we’ll know more [about a return date] when the experts have assessed her.”
Greenwood later added in a post on X she was “gutted to be out with a head injury”.
“[It is] something I need to take seriously with time and listening to the experts I am fortunate enough to have around me,” she said.
City are unbeaten at the top of the Women’s Super League table and face Arsenal on Sunday (12:30 GMT).
