The Arizona Diamondbacks will face the Texas Rangers in the World Series after overcoming the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Championship Series.

The Diamondbacks won the deciding seventh NLCS game 4-2 in Philadelphia.

It will be only their second Fall Classic appearance, having won in 2001.

The best-of-seven World Series begins at Globe Life Field in Texas on Friday evening (01:00 BST on Saturday), with game one live on BBC Sport.

Texas had already made sure of their place by beating the Houston Astros to win the American League pennant on Monday.
