Peter Wright beat James Wade 11-6 in Dortmund to land the European Championship title for a second time.

The Scot, 53, averaged 97.39 and hit four 180s on his way to his first ranking title win of the year.

After Wade levelled the match at 1-1 with a 157 finish, Wright took charge to take a 6-2 lead and maintained a cushion throughout.

“I’m happy with the win. It’s just another tournament. Go on to the next one. That’s it,” he said.

Wright earlier reached the final with an 11-8 win over Danny Noppert, having been 8-5 down.

The 40-year-old Wade booked his place with an 11-9 victory over Dutchman Gian van Veen after also coming back from 5-1 down.
