Scotland: Angus Gunn joins Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney & Aaron Hickey in missing final qualifiers

Breaking news

Scotland will be without captain Andy Robertson and defensive trio Angus Gunn, Kieran Tierney and Aaron Hickey for their final two Euro 2024 qualifiers with Georgia and Norway.

Gunn has only played 31 minutes for Norwich City since Scotland’s defeat in Spain in October, while Hickey sustained a hamstring problem in training with Brentford last week.

Liverpool’s Robertson has had shoulder surgery after being replaced in that loss in Seville, while Real Sociedad’s Tierney has a hamstring issue.

Scotland will travel to face Georgia next Thursday (17:00 GMT), before hosting Norway at Hampden three days later (19:45), with their place in next summer’s finals already secured.

However, Steve Clarke’s side could still win the group ahead of Spain and earn a place among the top seeds for the tournament in Germany.

Uncapped Verona left-back Josh Doig has been included, despite having been named in the under-21 squad on Tuesday, while Celtic right-back Anthony Ralston and Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie also return.
