Walmart Keeps Winning, but Has High Bar to Clear

Consumers are feeling squeezed and are gravitating to places that sell necessities at a good price. In other words, it’s an environment made for Walmart.

There are four corners of retail that are working well right now: Online, off-mall, convenience and value, as Citi Research analyst Paul Lejuez put it in a recent report. Walmart is thriving in each of these.
