Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn says it’s “long way back” for Michael Conlan to win a world title after he suffered a third defeat in 20 months when losing to Jordan Gill.
“Michael will make his own decisions but he’s also a guy that wants to operate at world level,” said Hearn after Englishman Gill’s seventh-round stoppage win at Belfast’s SSE Arena.
“He lost for the world title last time out and now he got stopped again at world level but borderline world level. It’s a massive blow.”
